Everyone loves a Mini. Isn’t it fun to watch them cheekily hassling the big boys? Or a Lotus Cortina. They’re cool, too.
But let’s face it; everyone wants the tyre eating, tail sliding, raw power of an American V8.
This is a freshly built, never raced, fresh out of the box FIA Mustang. It was built by Greg Cranmer of Heritage AutoWerks, generally regarded as one of Europe’s leading Porsche specialists. Finished in 2015, this Notchback was stripped to a bare shell, the body and chassis being lightened and strengthened. The all-new suspension was set up by The Mustang Workshop. Perspex windows, custom Brise Fabrications fuel cell, radiator and overflow tank are fitted. The braking system is to a duel system, with a completely rebuilt gearbox, axle, steering box and arms.
The engine was built by an ex-Nascar engine builder who at the time was working for Mercedes F1 building their race engines – the rotating assembly was balanced at Mercedes F1 HQ. A full engine spec is available upon request.
Finished in Hertz colours, the HTP papers are valid until 2025. Road registered, this Ford is eligible for a huge number of events including not only Goodwood’s St. Mary’s Trophy, Masters, HSCC, Top Hat, European Historic Touring Car Championship and the Spa Six Hours, but also road events such as The Tour Auto. Don’t confuse this with the array of tired, race worn old warriors out there – this is a freshly built racing Mustang, ready to go into battle.
