Of motor sport, Donald Healey was sure of two things: racing improved the breed and competition success was exceptional publicity. With this in mind, he developed the hugely popular Austin-Healey 100 sports car into a very effective racer, the superb 100S. With the lightweight aluminium body, strengthened chassis, uprated engine with an aluminium head and disc brakes all round, the 55 examples made by the Warwickshire factory achieved everything Donald Healey had intended.
This is an exceptional recreation of one of those 55 cars.
Build by respected Austin-Healey specialists JME Healeys in 2011, KAS 467 was manufactured alongside one of the original 55 examples, chassis AHS 3509. This ensured a great level of accuracy; other than the correct alloy-head, aluminium body and uprated chassis, KAS 467 includes finer details such as a 140mph speedo, finned-alloy aircooler and correct disc brakes all round.
Whilst still a very capable road car, KAS 467 was built with racing in mind, and has previously had HTP papers. Ideal for 1950s sports racing, road rallies or fine summer evenings, this is a superb Austin Healey 100S recreation that will provide all the enjoyment of one of the original 55 factory built examples for significantly less money!
